‘Christingle’ means ‘Christlight’. It is made up of an orange that represents the world; a candle which is the Jesus, the light of the world, born at Christmas; a red ribbon which reminds us of the blood of Jesus who died for us on the cross and four cocktail sticks which are either the four seasons or the four corners of the world. The Watchnight Service begins at 11.30 pm on Christmas Eve, December 24. Before the service, you can join us in the Church to sing some Christmas Carols at 11.15 pm or you can come along at any time from 10.30 pm onwards to the Hall for tea, coffee and mince pies. The Watchnight Service itself finishes just after midnight on Christmas Day. It is a quiet, thoughtful service and often the lights in the Church are gradually dimmed as we welcome,…
